After the massive fuck up by Wayne Taylor Racing, Dixon still had to worry about the #5 of Action Express as they were still on the same lap after the caution came out. How about that for an all IndyCar crew and a driver lineup of IndyCar and NASCAR drivers. And a big win for the Ford EcoBoost program.

So the caution came out with 15 min left and as it was wrapping up the team called the #10 to the pits with no explanation. Apparently, it was due to either Jordan Taylor was about to hit the drive time limit or was not out of the car long enough between stints. Can't do more than 14 hrs total or 4 hrs in a 6 hr window. They pulled out Jordan and replaced him with Ricky but since it was a quick SC period the pits were closed and they had to come back in once the race went green for a penalty

D'oh! Yeah, that's a big mistake.

Also, I keep forgetting about stint limits. In desert racing we can spend as much or as little time behind the wheel as we want, even if that means going full tilt for 24 hours or more.

That was an awesome race. I thought things were about to get interesting with that restart until the Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette was called back in. That was a big twist. But like you said, big win for the Ecoboost.

So Ford, Chevy and Dodge won. All American cars! The PC cars all use Chevy engines so I guess that also counts.

the DP cars. The ford ones aren't even trying to be anything else, so why should chevrolet's cars pretend to be corvettes?

I was hoping the #60 MSR Ligier HPD would have had a better showing but after their off in the overnight hours they were trapped 5 laps down then had their failure with 15 min left. They still did better than the ESM #1 and #2 who didn't see sun-up in their new vehicles.

I like that they at least tried to make it look somewhat like a Corvette instead of leaving it as a generic looking Riley chassis which the ford is.

And the best part was there was never any talk of penalties or officiating. Even though Beaux Barnfield made some questionable calls in IndyCar, if the rest of the season is like Daytona, then it will be a big boost for TUSC and IMSA

I was hoping they would do better to. Then the failure with just 15 minutes left just sucks. That's just bad luck.

But I agree, if the rest of the season is like this it will be a very good season.
